THE COMFORT WITHIN ROUTINE

I explored how Singaporeans find comfort and familiarity within insignificant routine tasks such as visiting our local wet market and ‘Kopitiam’1. The elderly and children captured disregard their differences and highlight a cultural amalgamation unique to Singapore. The images suspended at various depths, paired with a magnifying glass for viewers to use, re-enacts and reaches back to a childhood filled with curiosity and wonder.

1‘Kopi’ is coffee in Malay and ‘tiam’ in dialect means shop
