As an Artist…

Who am I?

Born and raised in Singapore, Elizabeth’s passion for art was seeded at the age of five and has blossomed ever since. With a background in Strategic Design and Management (BBA-Bachelor of Business Administration) from Parsons School of Design, she is an artist and brand strategist who merges her passions for art, design, gastronomy, and fashion into transformative, empathy-driven experiences. Her practice spans creative brand strategy, marketing and design, drawing upon her global insights and connections to New York, Paris, Canada and Singapore to shape meaningful, resonant stories.

As an artist, Elizabeth’s work explores the rawness of emotion and the depth of the human experience. She is fascinated by the power of art to evoke visceral emotional responses, using oil, charcoal, photography and mixed media to craft compositions that are her intended vessels for eliciting intrapersonal reflection in viewers. Her charcoal series includes dynamic black-and-white pieces that explore the instinctual movements and behaviours of animals, as a lens to understand the analogy between nature & human emotion. In her oil paintings, viewers are invited to experience the grace and resilience found in nature, encouraging them to reflect on their own lives and the connections they share with the natural world.

Being the eldest of 6 children, Elizabeth’s exploration of emotion also extends to childhood subjects and everyday nuances that provoke deep thought within her. ‘Inhibition’ (2020) portrays moments of distress, joy, and the unfiltered, uninhibited expressiveness of emotion as a youth. Bringing the viewer on a journey through the transient and temporal nature of emotions through our developmental stages which draw viewers into a deeply introspective experience. This balance of artistry and strategic vision underscores her belief in the power of creativity to foster understanding and create positive enduring experiences across communities and industries.
